LED strip light and light treatment

Light is not only to furnish our home. It can also serve corrective purposes. The most notable example is "light therapy."

Light therapy is a form of relief where patients are exposed to specific wavelengths of artificial light for a certain number of hours a day. It is used to treat common skin disorders, psychiatric disorders and sleep disorders and has proven to be very effective in most cases.

The therapy itself involves the use of devices called lightboxes. As the name suggests, these containers are filled with light bulbs or strips of led face mask covered with a frosted glass panel.

The light emitted from the box is directed to the affected area of the skin or shines directly on the retina, depending on the type of disease in question.

In the case of skin disorders, light is concentrated in the areas of the body that need attention. In psychiatric disorders, the light shines directly on the eyes.

Light therapy has been shown to be particularly effective in the treatment of seasonal affective disorder (SAD). APR is related to the regulation of two important hormones (mood-altering chemicals) produced by the brain hypothalamus; Melatonin and serotonin.

- Melatonin is a sleep-regulating hormone. The production of this hormone is inhibited by light and stimulated in its absence.

- Seratonin is a mood-regulating hormone. It is produced under reverse conditions with melatonin.

In the dark winter months when sunlight is scarce, people tend to suffer from a serotonin deficiency, making them miserable and unhappy. The onset of SAD is characterized by symptoms such as sadness, general lack of well-being and insomnia. The symptoms recur annually between mid-autumn and last until spring.

Light boxes can be used to correct imbalances of serotonin in the body by directly illuminating a patient's eyes. The light is filtered with UV to prevent damage to the skin or retina.

Non-seasonal depression and other psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar depression, can also be alleviated by the use of light therapy.

A study by the Cochrane Collaboration concluded that "for patients suffering from non-seasonal depression, phototherapy offers modest but promising modest antidepressant effect."

Processing April is especially important for businesses, especially offices, as it can delay employee performance. It has been proven that updating an office lighting system to improve the color rendering index (CRI) increases employee satisfaction and comfort and therefore increases productivity. Cold white LED strips have unique color rendering, making the color more vibrant and natural under its light.
